Android 5.0 Lollipop was launched last month and it has been talked about intensively ever since. The stock update is making its way to older Nexus device as we speak, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (both gens) and Nexus 10. Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 launched with Lollipop pre-installed however. Anyhow, a couple of manufacturers have announced Lollipop for their devices, HTC is amongst them. HTC One M7 and M8 Google Play Edition are expected to get the update within days and the regular HTC One M8 version will, hopefully, follow soon. Anyhow, we didn’t have much info about he update, at least thus far.
Some screenshots appear on Twitter, which allegedly show us HTC One M8’s Sense UI running Android 5.0 Lollipop. These screenshots appeared on @LlabTooFeR’s Twitter page and they look rather legit, you can check all four of them down below this article. HTC’s Sense UI has improved a lot over the years, I don’t know if you recall what a mess that was in the beginning, a really heavy skin. HTC really did improve it and Sense became one of the best Android UIs out there, it seems like that trend will continue with the arrival of Lollipop. These screenshots look great in my humble opinion, Sense and Lollipop mixed together might be a force to reckon with, not only due to the design of the skin itself, but performance as well. Sense was doing just fine on KitKat, but Lollipop will definitely boost HTC’s skin further and provide a great experience overall.
The owner of this Twitter handle didn’t share any additional information when it comes to the update itself though. Other than these 4 images he didn’t provide any additional information, at least not this time around. That very same user provided HTC’s Android 5.0 update roadmap last month, you can check it out here. According to the leaked information, Android 5.0 Lollipop will land to HTC One M7 and M8 first (as expected), in late November / early December. A bunch of other HTC devices will get the update in early 2015. Anyhow, check out the linked article above if you’d like to know more details. Do you like these leaked screenshots, did you imagine Android Lollipop-powered Sense UI will look like that?
