We’ve seen a bunch of Android Wear smartwatches thus far, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live were the first ones, but the most beautiful of the bunch, according to many people, is Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch. That piece of technology was the only circular Android Wear smartwatch available for some time, until LG released company’s second Android Wear smartwatch, the LG G Watch R. Moto 360 is still on top of the pile as far as the design goes, at least in my humble opinion, though you might think otherwise. Anyhow, we’re here to talk to you about an interesting Kickstarter campaign. SteelConnect is company which has an interesting project in mind and has already reached its goal actually. SteelConnect M is company’s second watch customization project, the first one was aimed at Pebble smartwatch. They were aiming at £10,000 and have raised over £11,000 at the moment. Never the less, let’s see what SteelConnect M is.
We’re talking about 3 products here, the M ° 1 8 0, M ° 2 2 5 and M – H O O K. I don’t know why its spelled that way, but it is, so… yeah. Anyhow, M ° 1 8 0 and M ° 2 2 5 are stainless steel strap adapters for the Moto 360 smartwatch which are inserted right were you would insert any other strap. These straps actually extend beyond the body of the watch itself, so it wouldn’t look as sleek but you’ll get some functionality instead of it though. These adapters will help preserves Moto 360’s pinholes and will let you easily switch straps (they’re NATO friendly). M ° 1 8 0 extends horizontally and will fit better to larger wrists while the M ° 2 2 5 will be more appropriate for the smaller wrist sizes. These strap adapters are available in silver and PVD matte black colors and in order to pledge and help out, you’ll need to splash out £15 or £33, depending on which strap adapter you choose.
The third piece of the puzzle is M – H O O K. This gadget will transform your Moto 360 into a pocket watch basically, though you can use it to carry your Moto 360 smartwatch as a necklace as well, or a bracelet… though we know you won’t do that, now will you? Well, some of you actually might. Anyhow, M – H O O K is also available in silver and PVD matte black and costs less than the aforementioned straps, the pledge is set at £9. If you decide to pledge for M – H O O K, SteelConnect will send you the product in January next year, while the strap adapter will take a bit longer to get to you, a month longer that is, they’ll ship in February.
