Many people criticized the Note 4’s display for not changing size and assumed it to be a minor upgrade from its predecessor, but nothing could be further from the truth. Today, video diagnostic company DisplayMate issued the results for its “Display Color Accuracy Shoot-Out” study and awarded Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note the “best of the best” title.
DisplayMate pitted the Note 4 with its rather hefty resolution boost against some of the clearest, crispest smartphones and tablets currently available on the market: The iPhone 6 Plus, the Galaxy Tab S, the iPad Air 2, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. A series of tests were carried out then scored and ranked according to color gamut, facial skin tones, organic colors, and finally blue reproduction from cyan to magenta.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 won the Full Gamut and White Point color accuracy tests scoring a whopping 1 (the best result available). The full series of tests together with their respective results for each handset can be seen in the table below.
