Plume for Twitter Gets Updated And Adds In Material Design UI Highlights

AH Plume-1

Material Design seems to be popping up just about everywhere across all the popular android apps, Plume being one of the latest to get a Material Design refresh in the UI department. Plume is one of the more popular third party Twitter clients out there, and they have recently updated the app giving it a newer look. Right off the bat you will notice some of the Material Design highlights like the hamburger menu off to the left side, as well as the bars up top having more depth to them. The color however doesn’t really evoke the Material Design we’re used to seeing, especially when in contrast to other apps that use this look like Gmail for example, or when compared to other Twitter apps that have a Material Design look such as Fenix or Talon for Twitter.

Nevertheless, if you use Plume we’re sure you’ll enjoy this update with the new style. Plume is still a powerful Twitter app and it has a ton of great and useful features, and it looks good and is easy to use. Along with the Lollipop style design tweaks other new features include the new way you add tweets, in which users post a new tweet with the circle button at the bottom. Instead of bright and vivid color splashes throughout the entire app, Plume takes a more subtle approach and uses colored accents in particular details. Like the new tweet button. The icons inside the menu for home, search, favorites, trends etc. have also been changed out. Instead of having a colorful design to them they’re a flat white.

With all updates you can probably expect to see some bug fixes and improvements here as well, although those are usually under the hood changes so unless you’ve been using Plume as your main Twitter client app, it’s likely you may not notice much difference in the way of how the app performs. Do you like Plume’s new style or are you more keen to use a different application to access your Twitter feed? Are you now more inclined to use the official Twitter app now that it has some cool new features coming in?
