C Spire Wireless is the sixth largest cellular provider in the United States of America, headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi and has approximately 1.2 million customers in the Mississippi, Memphis, Florida and Alabama. The business as approximately 1,400 cell sites and a permanent microwave ring across the Gulf Coast region. C Spire Wireless advertises national coverage and has done so since 2006. Today, C Spire Wireless is introducing three new data rollover plans that allow customers to carry forward any unused data allowances from month to month. What about calls, texts and MMS? Aha! The new plans allow unlimited talk, text and photographs plus automatic data overuse protection combined with optional top-up data allowance bundles.
The idea of rollover plans was first introduced to the American market by AT&T back in 2007, but with minutes rather than data. It’s an idea that’s been used across the world and is great for some customers as it means they can save up their minutes (or data in this case) from a quiet month to use when things get busier. C Spire Wireless are offering three plans and the SIM-only variants are $40 a month for 2 GB of data, $55 a month for 4 GB of data and $65 if the customer wants 6 GB of monthly data; if customers want one of these, they’ll have to bring their own unlocked device to the C Spire Wireless network. For plans including a device, the prices rise to $65, $80 and $90 for the 2 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB plans respectively. There are some terms and conditions to consider: you can only roll over the amount of data that your plan allows, so if you’re paying $40 a month for service, the most data you can have in a month is 4 GB (that being your regular monthly allowance plus 2 GB carrier over from the previous month). This is presumably to protect network users so that customers don’t save all their data for a one month blow out! The Rollover Data Plan includes tethering at no extra charge, but data top-ups are quite expensive at $10 for 500 MB, $15 for 1 GB and $45 for an extra 3 GB – although C Spire Wireless are keen to point out that unused data from an additional package is automatically rolled over (so as to maximise your hard earned dollars).
Are you with C Spire Wireless? If not, are you tempted to switch because you can roll over your data? Or do you need more than 6 GB of data a month and will likely never roll over any data? Let us know in the comments below.
