Where do I even start with Tinder? If you’re looking to hook up with a guy or girl in your area, this is the app you need. You sign in and post your photo, and if someone thinks you’re attractive, they mark you as such. If the sentiment is returned, the app creates a connection between you both. Then you can start chatting with the person and even set up a meeting, date, or a scandalous rendezvous. Now you can do all of that from your wrist on an Android Wear device because the Tinder for Android app just got an update to support Google’s new wearable platform.
You don’t even have to pull out your phone to find a date for the evening. Just update the Tinder app, and the Wear extension is pushed right on over to you wearable device. Voice commands are built right in. All you have to do is lift your wrist and say “Ok Google, start Tinder” and the app will start up and you can start browsing. The UI is a little more basic than what you see on your phone. That’s to be expected with any Android Wear app. The basic Tinder interface on your watch will show you photos of would-be dates, small bits of info from their Tinder profile, you’ll receive notifications of new matches on your wrist, too.
It hasn’t taken long for a whole slew of apps to get updated with Android Wear support. Not just Google apps, either, but apps like Lyft and Runtastic, IFTTT, Golfshot: Golf GPS, Eat24, the PlayerFM podcasting app, Delta and America Airlines, and more. You can find them all in this Android Wear section of the Play Store. Now we can add Tinder to that list. Go forth and party! Or find the love of your life, if that’s your goal.
