This week we go straight to the source again for our tom homescreen design of the week, and what we’ve selected comes from David Pitoko with a homescreen called Dark Yellow. Just like all our picks, Dark Yellow will require a small setup as well as a few different apps installed so you can recreate the looks and the design of this homescreen. We’ll go through what apps you need to get this look on your own device, and the go through the basics of how you can set everything up as it should be pretty simple.
First you’re going to need a third-party home launcher app, we recommend Nova Prime. You’ll also need Zooper Widgets Pro, which is how you’ll apply the widget files. There are two other apps you’ll have to download, which are Popup Widget, and Media Utilities which is for the configuration of the media controls from the Music widget button. Lastly you’ll also need need to grab the widget skin itself, which you can do from the source link below.
Once you have everything installed, go into the Nova settings and set your homescreen grid size to 6 x 6, then make sure you have everything set to one homescreen page. For the one homescreen page you’ll have two widgets, both at the 3 x 6 grid size. If you have no option for a widget of this size, simply select any size and re-size it to match the 3 x 6. The last step requires going into Media Utilities and entering the settings menu, selecting Zooper Widget, cover art, sound progress, and then you’re done. Have a great rest of the weekend and happy theming!!
