The 2015 Major League Baseball season is about to get underway in the next week or so. Which means it’s time to go over the apps that everyone should have installed from now until September and through October if your team is good enough, if you want to keep up with all things Baseball. These are our top 10 apps for Baseball fans.
MLB.com At Bat
This is probably the most comprehensive app for those keeping up with their favorite MLB teams. I’ve been using this one for a few years to keep up with the Detroit Tigers and it is amazing. It has just about everything you would ever want to know. From stats, to standings, to scores, to highlights and everything in between.
MLB Perfect Inning
This is one of the many baseball games that’s out there for the 2015 Season. It’s developed by Gamevil, and allows you to create your own team. Including the ability to play as any of the American League of National League teams and take your team straight to the October Classic.
9 Innings: 2014 Pro Baseball
Here’s another game for MLB fans, this one is actually from last year, but should be updated soon. It’s from Com2US, who makes some pretty sweet games as well. You can play as any of the 1400 Baseball players in the MLB as well as any team in the MLB. Yes that includes all 30 of them.
MLB Ballpark Empire
This is a bit of a slower paced game, and actually one I picked up last year. You can play as any team in the MLB, but you’re basically the GM of the team, not a player. What that entails is building the park, trading players and coaching staff. You have complete control with this one.
theScore: Sports & Scores
theScore is another one of my favorite apps. It’s not just for baseball either, as they now cover just about every sport out there, including eSports. theScore will give you scores, standings, news, highlights and much more for every single Baseball game this year, as well as Basketball, Football, Soccer and many other sports.
FOX Sports GO
Fox Sports Go is going to be a popular one this year, as you’ll be able to stream games on your smartphone and tablet. However, you will need to login through your cable provider unfortunately. A lot of games, not just baseball, are streamed and shown on Fox Sports channels, so this is a must have app.
WatchESPN
This is another app that’s going to be pretty popular this year. With Sunday Night Baseball and all. With the WatchESPN app you can watch all of ESPN’s content right there on your smartphone and tablet. You’ll just need to login through your cable provider to do so. Additionally, if you use Sling TV, you can login via Sling and get access to WatchESPN.
Team Stream by Bleacher Report
So you want your baseball news, but you only care about say your team? Well Team Stream from Bleacher Report will filter out all the news so you only get news for the teams that you select. So you are choosing your experience and not the editors at Bleacher Report.
ESPN Fantasy Baseball
Want to play a little Fantasy Baseball? ESPN has your back. If you are playing ESPN Fantasy Baseball this year, you can use the ESPN app to keep up with your league, as well as trade players all from the app.
CBS Sports
Another nicely designed sports app here. This time from CBS Sports. Again, CBS Sports covers a ton of sports, not just Baseball. But they do bring you the latest news, scores, stats, highlights and so much more. All in a tablet optimized app. What more could you ask for?
