March Madness is a special time of year here in the United States. It is a time when we cheer on our favorite college teams as they make the push to be the lone giant standing at the top of the mountain. During the 67 game spectacle, basketball lovers will experience a whole range of emotions. It is enough to make one go…well…mad. Thankfully Turner Sports Interactive, Inc. has a solution to help us transition through this stressful time in our lives. They have released the new NCAA March Madness Live application for Android. You can head over to the Google Play Store (source link below) and download your very own version for free and enjoy a pretty decent set of features to help you navigate through all the clutter and get the information that you need most to make your picks for the office pool or to simply impress your friends.
The application has gotten a bit of a facelift over last year’s application with a fresh new look and feel. The app will allow you to conduct research with the all-new team page. There is also a featured section that will enable you to check out some of the classic March Madness moments from tourneys past. They also added a list view for making a quick pick, or you can use bracket view for the classic look. The overhauled application will allow you to watch live coverage of all 67 games, so you do not have to miss out on the action while waiting in the grocery line or when you are out walking the dog. There is a caveat to this, however. You must have a TV subscription through your content provider to watch any game that is being aired on TBS, TNT, or truTV. Games that are on CBS are still able to be viewed without a TV provider subscription. They are offering a three hour pass so you can try it out, which will at least allow you to get in some buzzer time if you are not able to provide, or do not have a provider subscription.
It will also include up-to-the-minute scores and statistic data via the interactive bracket. You can also listen to live radio broadcast from the app, so if you can’t get the video, at least you will be able to hear what is going on as you remotely root for your favorite teams. Another neat feature is that it will allow you to enter the Capitol One NCAA March Madness Bracket Challenge and make your picks for the challenge right from the app. You can also head over to the Coke Arena to get social media experiences for Twitter and Instagram. There is also a team-specific video stream during the Final Four. If you are a basketball fan, this will be a must have app as you enjoy all that March Madness has to offer. You don’t want to miss out on the action because as we all know, anything is possible during March Madness. Will you be watching the tournament via mobile device? Who are some of your picks for this year? Let us know on out Google+ page or in the comment section below.
