One of the big news topics over the last few months has been that of Android’s latest operating system, Android 5.0 (Lollipop). That said, over the last few weeks the news has centered much more around the latest update to Lollipop in the form of Android 5.1. This has been speculated upon for the last few weeks with everyone wondering when it will be announced and land. Well, a couple of days ago, it did land. Not to mention that Google immediately started uploading and making available the factory images for various Nexus devices.
That said, the updating of all the factory images for all the Nexus devices has been a bit slower going. Well, if you own the latest Nexus device, the Nexus 6 and have been waiting for your factory image to become available, then you are now in luck. It looks like the factory image has just gone live on the AOSP and can now be downloaded and flashed. Of course, if you prefer to use the OTA update instead of the factory image then you can simply either use the OTA for the Nexus 6 which became available yesterday or wait until it is pushed to your device.
If you are planning on flashing the factory image then you will need to know what you are doing. You will also need fastboot to push the image onto your device. If you need full instructions on how to do this, then you can hit the source link below to be taken over to the Google’s Developers page which will guide you through the process. That link will also provide you with the download for the factory image. That said, you can also just use the link below which will start an automatic download of the image for you.
