Today, Samsung has finally announced the pre-order date for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Some of their most anticipated flagship smartphones in quite a while. Pre-orders will begin tomorrow, March 27th, and will be available in stores on April 10th. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Best Buy locations will have the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices in store tomorrow (that’s March 27th), so you can check them out before you decide whether you want to buy it or not. More than likely, the authorized retailers will just have dummy units, if they have them at all tomorrow.
While we don’t have confirmed prices for all carriers, AT&T has listed their prices for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in their press release. However they are only offering the Next installment plan prices. The 32GB Galaxy S6 is going for $22.84/month for 24 months. That brings the total to about $550 off contract. With the Galaxy S6 Edge going for $27.17 per month for 24 months. Which is about $650 for the phone. We should be getting more info from the other carriers shortly, on pre-orders as well as prices, and what models of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge they’ll be offering.
Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge back at Mobile World Congress earlier this month. And announced that they’d be available globally on April 10th, and it appears that they are sticking to that date. Both devices feature a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED Display, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, along with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage models. There’s no microSD card slot or removable battery this time around. Additionally, Samsung has placed a 16MP camera on the back which also includes Optical Image Stabilization. Samsung also has the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in 5 colors, navy blue, emerald green, black, white and gold. However, for those of us in the US, we only get to choose from the black, white and gold color options. At least at launch. Don’t be surprised if Samsung brings more colors further down the road in the life-cycle of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. As they have done it before.
