YotaPhone Price Drops Down To Just 12,999 INR ($211) In India

YotaPhone (10) It’s only been a few months since the first-gen YotaPhone went on sale in the Indian market. The dual-display phone was launched back in October in the country with an asking price of 23,499 INR ($380), which apparently didn’t go too well with the price-sensitive market. This meant that the device got a price cut the following month, which made it 17,999 INR ($291) affordable — a $90 price cut. It appears as though the Russia-based maker is really keen on making it big in India, which is perhaps why the phone has received another price cut.

This time round, the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) of the product has been slashed by another 5,000 INR or $70, to make it available for just 12,999 INR / $210 in the country. The YotaPhone was among the first phones to feature a secondary e-ink display on the rear, which also meant that it was a first-gen product. People usually have their apprehensions when purchasing a first-gen product, and by the look of it, YotaPhone want to counter that with some alluring price tags.

As usual, the phone is available via the country’s leading e-commerce player, i.e., Flipkart. The product can be had in both Black and White, for 12,999 INR. To remind you of the phone’s specifications, there’s a 4.3-inch main display on the front which has a 1280 x 720p HD resolution, along with one of the same size but lower resolution (640 x 360p) on the rear. Since it’s an e-ink display, it doesn’t consume any power at all while the picture is static, which is why on the YotaPhone the rear display is of always on nature. Other than that, there’s a healthy 2GB of RAM on board, along with a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Krait CPU to make for a decent mid-range setup. It also has 32GB of storage on-board which is actually not very common on phones that are priced as much as this one, so if you’re game for something new, now is the time to get one. The YotaPhone also features a 13-megapixel main camera along with a 1-megapixel sensor on the front, and lastly an 1800mAh battery.
