We’ve been seeing a ton of rumors regarding Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship handset. This is not that surprising considering that Lei Jun, company’s CEO, announced that the company will launch their new flagship device on January 15. We’ve seen all kind of rumors and leaks in the last couple of weeks and especially the last couple of days. The alleged Xiaomi Mi4S and Mi5 leaked, multiple times, and we still don’t know which leak is real nor what will the name of the device be.
To add some more content to the table, we have a new leak to share with you today. The Mi5 chassis already leaked yesterday, and that happened again now. This chassis resembles the one that leaked yesterday, and if this leak pans out in the end, the Mi4S / Mi5 might resemble the Mi4 a whole lot. This is made out of aluminum and looks very similar to the Mi4’s chassis, but bigger, which was to be expected. This chassis also resembles the recently leaked Mi4S 3D schematics, so there seems to be some connection there, but as I said, we’ve seen so many leaks lately that it’s hard to say what’s real and what’s not.
The Xiaomi Mi4S / Mi5 is expected to launch on January 15, and according to leaks it will sport a 5.5-6″ 1080p or QuadHD display, 3 or 4GB of RAM and it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 or 810 SoC, depending on which leak do you believe, of course. 16 and 8-megapixel cameras have also been mentioned, as well as an IR blaster which will reportedly be located at the top of this device.
This device is expected to launch in about 5 days, on January 15 in China. Xiaomi certainly wants to leave their mark this year and approve upon last year, which was amazing for the company as it is. Let’s see if Xiaomi can amaze us with what they announce, although I believe that some of these leaks went a bit too far and raised the hype more than necessary. What do you think, what will this device look like and what internal do you expect Xiaomi to include in the package?
