Moto X Pre-Orders Have Been Delayed; Will Ship Within Two Weeks

Moto-X-AH-1

The new Moto X has stirred up a lot of excitement and has gotten a lot of people online using Moto Maker to build their custom phones. According to Droid-Life, the shipping of the Moto X has hit a hard snag and many people haven’t been able to get their new phone just yet. On twitter, Droid-Life asked people a few questions about their Moto Maker order like what type of back they chose and if their order has even shipped yet. The reason for Droid-Life’s tweet was because the order they placed just after the pre-order period did not ship. According to the feedback they received, the shipments were a little hit and miss, with some receiving theirs while others are waiting. The delayed pre-orders for the Moto X has turned into a big enough problem for them to send out customer support emails.

Here’s the email one of the Droid-Life writers received; “Hi Kellen, We’ve coordinated with our facility regarding the shipment of your order. We are getting a large number of orders causing some delays but we are doing our best to have your package delivered to you as soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience but please be assured that we’re working on your issue. We’ll keep you posted for any update regarding this and please expect a call back from one of our representatives within 24 hours. Thank You!”

As of right now, nobody is sure of what caused the delay. One idea that has been thrown in the air is the new factory that Motorola is using in China to build the Moto Maker phones. The factory could possibly still be working out any problems or kinks that they are running into while building and shipping phones. In an update to the article Droid-Life posted, Motorola won’t even let people backorder 32GB models. Instead they are being asked to get a 16GB model which in Motorola’s part seems pretty backwards. In addition to this update, Droid-life updated their article again with news on their order. Customer support gave Droid-Life a call and told them that their order will ship within two weeks. To make up for the delay, Motorola offered them a $25 off coupon code for their next purchase. From the looks of things, Motorola is having some serious trouble with getting their Moto Maker phones out. The company has not gone public about the problem so we are not clear on what is going on. If you’re having these problems too, share with us what you’re experience in the comments section.
