Voice calling problems spread for owners of HTC One (M7) and One (M8)

Like the expansion of Mr. Smith throughout the Matrix, it seems HTC has a problem with their most recent flagship devices, the HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8), that is causing the devices to not be able to make or receive calls using the normal cellular network. Users began noting the problem as far back as October and a post by XDA member PondaRox on November 2nd really brought the issue out in the open. Unfortunately, although HTC seems to be aware of the problem, they have made no official statement regarding its existence or a possible fix.

Part of the reason HTC may not have taken an official stance yet is because the source of the problem may not have been identified. Various sources have offered a couple alternatives suggesting it could be an HTC update that is having issues with Google Play services or it could be a problem with the HTC Sense UI. As a temporary solution, some users are finding that disabling the Google services framework and then rebooting fixes the issue for a few hours.

If there is any good news for users who have been impacted, it is that they can use Wi-Fi calling if the service is available to them as it does not appear to be impacted by the glitch. Anyone out there experienced this problem with their device?
