According to Reddit (most good stories start out like that), Verizon will be releasing its subsidized version of the Moto/Google Nexus 6 on the 13th of December. The Reddit user spoke to employees and was told that the device will become available on the second saturday of the month, which is markedly unusual.
Verizon has a habit of releasing devices on Thursdays, not Saturdays, which means either Reddit and its users can’t be completely trusted all the time, or Verizon is going to pull a Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2.0. (Which, three years after release is still on Android 4.2 by the way.) Perhaps Verizon will release the device with little fanfare, then push for customers to purchase other devices and give Google the ice cold shoulder once more.
However, if you hate contracts—which you probably do—and you have an extra $650 lying around—less likely—you can still purchase an unlocked Nexus 6 from the Google Play Store that will work perfectly fine on Verizon.
What do you think? December 13th is the day, or are we still in the dark? Is Verizon going to give the N6 the respect it deserves, or are the former Galaxy Nexus users in for more heartache? Leave a comment below and let us know!
