Snapdragon 810 could cause delays for both the Samsung Galaxy S 6 and LG G4

Companies only get one or two shots each year for flagship devices so they want to make sure they utilize the best specs available at the time. For next year’s devices, that means the Snapdragon 810, which is Qualcomm’s first 64-bit octa-core processor.

The early consensus was that the 810 wasn’t going to be available till June of next year, so I really didn’t think Samsung and LG would include it in the Galaxy S 6 and G4, but according to a report out of Business Korea, both companies are trying to utilize the said chip.

The only problem is that the CPU has overheating issues, which severely drops the performance at certain voltage levels. On top of that, the included Adreno 430 GPU has issues with the RAM controller.

We really don’t know when Qualcomm will be able to rectify these issues so the big question is if Samsung and LG will delay their devices or go with the Snapdragon 805? Let’s also not forget that Motorola is rumored to be utilizing the 810 in the next DROID. This news is certainly not good for Samsung because they need to hit it out of the ballpark with the Galaxy S 6. The Galaxy S 5 severely underperformed, and as a result, Samsung cleaned house in the mobile division.

What do you guys think? Would you be disappointed if the Galaxy S 6 and G4 sported the Snapdragon 805 instead of the 810?
