Meizu has announced their MX4 Pro handset on November 19th and the company managed to achieve the “MX4 effect” once again. The original Meizu MX4 was a surprise to many people, the phone is extremely well build from great materials and the handset is extremely affordable in China, priced at only 1799 Yuan ($293, basic model price), which is great considering its specifications. Meizu MX4 Pro improves upon the MX4 foundation in many ways and its price didn’t go up all that much, the MX4 Pro (basic model) costs 2,499 Yuan ($406), which is more than acceptable. The MX4 Pro was available for pre-order since it launched and Meizu has received over 6.7 million pre-orders for the handset in the first two weeks of its pre-order availability, that number has certainly grown to this day.
Meizu MX4 Pro has become available for sale in China today at 10am local time and became sold out a minute later basically. It took some resellers a bit longer in order to run out of stock, but that happened as well eventually. I actually expected Meizu to have a larger quantities of MX4 Pro stocked, we don’t have the exact number of the phones that were in stock, but I guess it wasn’t all that many considering they sold them out in a minute basically. Either way, it will take some time for Meizu to manufacture and re-stock, but the consumers who pre-ordered the device should be getting it in time, Meizu made sure of that and guaranteed that there won’t be issues as far as that is concerned (which wasn’t exactly the case with the MX4 launch). Everyone who purchased the phone via pre-order or the regular way will get it in time.
Meizu MX4 Pro comes sporting a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) display along with 3GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16, 32 or 64GB of in-built storage. This smartphone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5430 octa-core processor which comes with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. On the back of this handset, you’ll find a 20.7-megapixel IMX220 sensor from Sony while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter up front, made by OmniVision’s. This device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat and Flyme OS on top of it while it has a 3350mAh battery packed inside. The device measures 150.1 x 77 x 9mm and it weighs 158 grams. This is a 4G LTE capable handset and it also sports a fingerprint scanner below the display, push-to-activate kind. Meizu MX4 Pro’s pricing in China: 2499 Yuan ($408) for a 16GB version, 2699 Yuan ($441) for a 32GB model and 3099 Yuan ($506) for the 64GB version. We still don’t have any information when it comes to the international availability of this handset.
