Huawei’s Honor 6 Plus Won’t Be Available In Europe And Other Western Markets

Huawei Honor 6 Plus unboxing (Siny Technology)_4 It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the launch of the dual rear camera enabled Huawei Honor 6 Plus, but we already have some news regarding the device for our readers in the western hemisphere. Turns out, the camera giant won’t be available in western markets, including Europe, after all. This is because China’s Huawei is allegedly targeting markets in its own continent, i.e., Asia. While there’s by no mean a dearth of 5.5-inch flagships around the world, it never hurts to have one more; prospective buyers of the Honor 6 Plus will definitely be disappointed.

Here’s what Huawei had to say about the development:

Honor is driven by its consumers, the digital natives and, in Asia, the customer demand for phablets is very high so we have developed the Honor 6+ to this need.

However we don’t employ an “one size fits all” approach to our products and, in Europe where there is currently less demand for phablets, our focus at the moment continues to be on meeting audience needs with the high quality Honor 6 and Honor 3C devices

It totally does make sense to not have a ‘one size fits all’ sort of a device. However, I’m more than just sure about the Honor 6 Plus having a demand in Western markets already. What this does is that it gives resellers a better chance at making some money, while also maintaining a steady demand for the device. Huawei will, in a way, be testing waters via means of unofficial sales channels, one would imagine.

The Honor 6 Plus comes right after the booming success of the Honor 6, which is a 5-inch 1080p phone. On the other hand, the Honor 6 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display, and packs some rather nifty features, including an IR blaster, 3GB RAM, an octa-core processor (Huawei’s home-made Kirin 925), and a total of three 8 MP cameras; two on the rear and one on the front. The result is something similar to what you’ve already seen on HTC’s One M8 (Duo Camera) — there’s the usual filters, re-focusing ability and an interesting new addition in the form of aperture re-adjust.
