This afternoon, the official DROID Twitter account – that’s @DroidLanding – leaked out a press render of the new Motorola DROID Turbo. And you can see it above. It kind of looks like the Moto X (2014) and the DROID Maxx from last year had a baby and out popped this thing. If you look at the picture, you can see the ring around the camera. However, there is a flash on either side of the camera, not inside the ring. Which makes it a bit strange. Additionally you do have a dimple there – or not. It looks like it’s flush with the rest of the back of the device, and not concave at all. Looking at the back, you can also see that it appears to be a red kevlar like finish under the glossy plastic. Now it may not be glossy plastic, but that’s what it looks like in the render. I really hope it isn’t. You can also see the Verizon and DROID logos at the bottom of the device. Additionally the volume rocker and power button are switched from the Moto X. Which is what we saw in the render of the Nexus 6 that leaked out a few weeks ago.
Right now, the rumors are pointing to a 5.2-inch QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 3900mAh battery, Qi Wireless charging, and a 21MP camera inside. If these rumors hold true, Verizon users have a definitive beast coming their way really soon. I hope that Verizon and Motorola make this thing official already, as it’s looking better and better each day. With a 3900mAH battery, it’s definitely going to last a long time.
