Asus MeMO Pad 10 (ME103k) announced, quad-core 10-inch tablet for $199

While most budget tablets tend to favor the 7 or 8-inch form factor, there’s a growing number of reasonably decent 10-inch models. With that in mind, Asus has now unveiled its MeMO Pad 10 (ME103K), a new $199 tablet with a 10.1-inch display at a resolution of 1280 x 800.

The MeMO Pad 10 is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro with 1GB RAM, which isn’t exactly bleeding edge at this point, but should still provide a reasonably decent experience for those with modest needs. Other specs include 8GB storage, microSD, 5GB Asus Life Time web storage, stereo speakers with SonicMaster tech, a 2MP rear cam, a .3MP front cam and a battery that’s rated for about 9.5 hours of life. There’s also Android 4.4 KitKat onboard.

With an older SoC and a weaker display resolution, the MeMO Pad 10 isn’t a head turner by any means, but it’s still a fairly nice device when you consider its price tag. No exact word on when the tablet is shipping, though we’d expect it to arrive in time for the holidays.

What do you think, worth picking up at this price or are its weaker specs too big of a turn off?
