Samsung Gear 3 To Have Bigger Home Button, and More Rectangular Display

samsung-gear-2-neo-4

We basically know that Samsung is going to be unveiling a new smartwatch in a couple of weeks at IFA 2014. Which Samsung’s even, Unpacked 2014 Episode 2, is set for September 3rd, and it starts at 3pm local time (which is about 9am ET, and 6am PT for those of you in the states). Of course, we’ll be covering all the details from the event as we always do. What are expecting from Unpacked 2014 Episode 2? Well the Galaxy Note 4 is basically confirmed. But we are also expecting the Gear VR and Gear 3. Which we have some new details on today.

According to our friends over at Pocketnow, it looks like Samsung is changing up the display a bit. They are stating that Samsung could go with a more rectangular display on the Gear 3. But not as rectangular as the one on the Gear Fit. They are also saying that it’ll have even thinner bezels and also have a nice curve to it, Which I think many of us will love. Additionally, Samsung is said to be adding a bigger home button to the smartwatch. And we all know how Samsung loves their physical home buttons, so I can definitely see this.

As far as the camera goes, Pocketnow, doesn’t think that the Gear 3 will have one. But it does sound like it’ll have a cellular radio. Which obviously, the carriers are going to love. As that’s yet another device they can charge you a data plan for. Finally, Pocketnow says that they were informed that the Gear 3 is getting ready for a September launch. Which would likely mean it’ll be announced at IFA and probably launch on carriers alongside the Galaxy Note 4. Similar to the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear last year and the Galaxy S5 with the Gear 2 this year.

Are any of you really interested in the Gear 3? Or would you rather pick up an Android Wear smartwatch? Let us know in the comments below.
