Rumor: Moto 360 Launching Along Side Moto X+1 into Moto Maker

Moto 360

Google’s annual developer conference-Google I/O- has come and gone. While we got a glimpse of Google’s new smart watch OS called Android Wear, and we got a release date for Samsung’s Gear Live, and LG’s G Watch, we didn’t get a release date for Motorola’s Moto 360. However, new reports suggest that not only will we be seeing the Moto 360 launch soon, but it may launch with the Moto X+1 as well. Not only will they more than likely launch together, but both devices are said to launch into Moto Maker.

The Moto 360 has been praised as being the most beautiful smartwatch to date running Android Wear. With it’s circular body, and high quality materials, the Moto 360 impressed many people during Google IO. Only people who attended the event were allowed to get a hands on with the Moto 360, and everyone seemed to keep the same level of excitement for the device-even after the hands on. Though unlike rumors suggested, the smartwatch wasn’t officially launched and then made available to purchase. Instead, Google commented the same way they have been for months, “later this summer.” Though the Moto 360 isn’t the only device that is to launch later this summer.

Motorola has been working on their latest flagship device-the Moto X+1. This device is Motorola’s follow-up to last years flagship the Moto X. Currently, there have been leaks for the Moto X+1, as well as rumored specs. However for a release date, we will more than likely see this device officially in-or-around August. This is about the same time Motorola launched the Moto X last year. Though it took sometime before Motorola offered Moto Maker to all Moto X devices.

Moto Maker is essentially a web store from Motorola that allows for a whole new level of customization. From here, you can select between numerous color back panels for your device, as well as accents, and even a little message during the splash screen when turning on your Motorola device. There is also an option to sync it ahead of time with your Google account. While things got a bumpy start for Moto Maker last year, Motorola may have learned from their mistakes. According to PhoneArena, their sources suggest that Motorola will be launching the Moto X+1 straight away into the Moto Maker web store. Joining the X+1, will be the Moto 360, and at the same time. The Moto 360 may not have as much customization as the Moto X+1, but there are multiple options for the band of the smartwatch. All of this points to the Moto 360 also being released in August-late summer.
