HTC One M7 Sense 6.0 update rolling out to unlocked and developer handsets in the U.S.

HTC One Review

Earlier this week we learned that the HTC One M7 was getting an update to Sense 6.0 in Canada for both unlocked devices and those on Rogers, Bell and TELUS networks. At the time we surmised that it would only be a matter of time before the US market received the same update, and it turns out this was a correct assumption.

Taking to Twitter, HTC product manager Leigh Momii revealed that the update is now rolling out to Developer Edition and unlocked HTC One M7 owners. While this currently leaves carrier-branded HTC One M7 owners out of the fun, the good news is that AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are likely not too far behind, as their updates are already in the final certification stage. T-Mobile still appears to be in the development stage, however, so it seems possible that the uncarrier could be the last one to the party.

So what’s new here in this 668MB update? According to the change-log, we are looking at new interfaces for the Gallery and Camera apps, which should include many of the same camera improvements found in the M8 — though there may be some limitations due to hardware differences. The log also mentions Blinkfeed improvements, better theme/font support, HTC’s Extreme Power Saving mode and more.

Anyone snag the update yet, if so, what do you think of the improvements so far? For those with a carrier version, hang tight, we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as we learn more about when you’ll see the upgrade to Sense 6.0.
