Ebay Update Their Android App For Enhanced Buying And Selling

ebay

The world of Ebay. It’s a wonderful little place where one can go and find just about anything their little heart desires even if it isn’t available in stores. Once upon a time Ebay didn’t have an Android app available and things weren’t as great as they are now. That time has long since passed, and today Ebay has made some updates to their app that they say will further enhance the buying and selling experience from the app’s interface. Using the webpage version of Ebay is familiar and quite easy so any improvements that can be made towards an app version of a service like Ebay are most welcomed. Let’s get into the few key changes that have been made to the app for any of the users out there.

First things first, and especially so because it’s what you’ll probably notice as soon as you open up the application, Ebay has updated the styling of their app to house a fresh new UI design. Whether or not you absolutely loved the look before, things have changed and the new design should be a little more up to date. They have also noted that search results have been improved and images are now bigger than before so searching for the items you want should be an easier experience.

The app also now supports donating portions of your profits to charities(or all of them if you wish)from selling items on Ebay through the integrated Ebay Giving Works service. The option will be available to sellers upon listing something up for sale.Of course there is always usually improved performance with things like this(by this I mean updates to apps)so things should just generally feel smoother within the app. If you’re a seller, another good feature that is focused on you is the opportunity to check a buyer’s location when viewing a “Best Offer,” and you can now also send payment reminders in case payments haven’t yet been made after a sale is finished. “Ebay Now” is also integrated into version 2.7 of the app, which enables immediate and scheduled deliveries if in a supported location. The app update should already be live in the Play Store so if you have the Ebay app installed open up your my apps section and check it out.

Google Says That Under 2% Of Leaked Login Credentials Were Valid

gmail-ah-1

In today’s world where we put our privacy on the internet security is extremely important. Some things are meant to be public and seen, others however, not so much. So whenever we hear that something private got leaked from a service we use and trust, we get worried, which is quite normal. Earlier today we’ve reported that 5 million Gmail usernames and passwords got leaked on a Russian website and urged you to change your Google password. Google was quick to react to this, read on.

Google says that none of their current systems were hacked in order to obtain this data while adding that less than 2% of username and password combinations might have worked. Google also notified the affected users right away. “We found that less than 2% of the username and password combinations might have worked, and our automated anti-hijacking systems would have blocked many of those login attempts. We’ve protected the affected accounts and have required those users to reset their passwords. It’s important to note that in this case and in others, the leaked usernames and passwords were not the result of a breach of Google systems. Often, these credentials are obtained through a combination of other sources.” said Google. This is only a part of their official statement, you can check out the rest via the source link below.

Google added that the credentials were probably obtained by the sources outside of Google. The company also explained a part of their actions in order to keep your account as secure as possible while they also gave out some tips in order for you to keep your account safe. You can never be too safe nowadays, so keep your passwords as long and cryptic as possible while keeping them stored in a safe place, your head only is always a safe bet. Google even offers 2-step verification you might consider, you can read about it if you follow the source link below. Services like 1Password and LastPass are also a great choice. Did this news affect you when you first saw it, did you change your Google password immediately?

T-Mobile Uncarrier 7.0: WiFi Calling gets an overhaul, free wireless routers, free in-flight messaging, and more

T-Mobile Uncarrier 7 WiFi Calling

T-Mobile kicked off their latest Uncarrier 7.0 event in San Francisco where John Legere and friends announced the latest development in their Uncarrier revolution. Of course, Legere took a minute to bash the competition and announce that August 2014 was the single biggest month in the company’s history, thanks to 2.7 million new customers before finally hatching his latest scheme: “WiFi Unleashed.”

While WiFi Calling on T-Mobile really isn’t anything new, it seems they’ve been doing some work on making the entire process as seamless as possible. T-Mobile will be taking away the already little setup involved in WiFi Calling. Now, T-Mobile’s smartphones will automatically connect to a WiFi network out of the box, providing a seamless hand off between their LTE network and your own home WiFi. Place a call using WiFi Calling and you can jump in your car and never drop a call (unless you’re in a HSPA+ network, then all bets are off).

Should you find your current wireless router sucks, T-Mobile will provide you with one of their own specialty ASUS-made wireless routers that feature an easy plug-and-play setup. The best part? They’ll provide every Simple Choice customer with the router free of charge (with a $25 deposit and as long as you have at least 1 WiFi Calling capable device). For those that don’t, T-Mobile will provide early upgrades via their JUMP program — eligible or not. What’s more is that moving forward, every single smartphone T-Mobile sells under their roof will now support WiFi Calling with zero setup.

With network coverage in your home settled, T-Mobile takes to the sky. They’ve struck a deal with Gogo (the guys responsible for in-flight WiFi service) to give T-Mobile customers free texting/picture messaging and access to voice mails via their Visual Voice Mail app while flying. There’s no data and no calling, but at least it’s something.

Free routers will be available September 17th and you should have noticed a handful of updates going out to T-Mobile’s already WiFi Calling equipped devices today. I guess the only question we have is will this be enough to get you to switch from your current wireless provider, or will this been seen as nothing more than one of the many perks offered to T-Mobile customers?

Today the company made a series of Un-Carrier 7.0 announcements that all concern using Wi-Fi to make calls or send texts, even from 30,000 feet (texting and voicemail only).

Nvidia legal docs out the HTC Nexus 9, coming in Q3 of this year

HTC logo aa 1

You may already be aware of the fact that Nvidia has taken Qualcomm to court over the alleged violation of seven GPU patents, but what you probably didn’t know was that Nvidia’s own legal filings actually contained proof the HTC Nexus 9’s existence.

As you can see below, Nvidia mentions several devices using the Tegra K1, including the HTC Nexus 9:

nvidia-htc

This single sentence actually sheds quite a bit of light on a few things. First, it confirms that the device will have an Nvidia K1 chip. Second, it mentions that the tablet will arrive in Q3 of this year. And finally, we now know the tablet will be called the HTC Nexus 9. Earlier rumors had indicated that the device might be called the Nexus 8, as the screen is somewhere between 8 and 9-inches in size.

If you had any doubts about the HTC Nexus tablet’s existence, you shouldn’t any longer. Of course, nothing is official until HTC and Google announce it, which could be happening soon enough. Excited yet?
