Lenovo To Bring A7000 Mid-Ranger to India On April 7th

Lenovo has announced a number of smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this month. The Lenovo Vibe Shot definitely got the most media attention, but there were other solid products announced, like the Lenovo A7000 for example. This is a really capable mid-range offering by Lenovo which costs only $169, which is not that bad considering its specifications. Anyhow, the company seems ready to launch this device for the Indian market.

This China-based company has started sending out invites, stating that they’ll hold an event in India on April 7. The company didn’t directly confirm that the A7000 will land, but that’s the most probable outcome. The company has released their A6000 handset back in January. That handset is available via Flipkart, and it seems like its successor will be offered through this retailer as well. We still don’t know how much will the Lenovo A7000 cost in India, but it might retail for around Rs. 10,999, which is around $175. The company might even opt to offer it at a lower price point, at around Rs. 9,999. Either way, we’ll find out soon.

The Lenovo A7000 comes sporting a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 8GB of expandable internal storage. This thing is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752M octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a 16-core Mali-T760 GPU for graphics. 8-megapixel snapper is available on the back of the device and flanked by an LED flash, while a 5-megapixel snapper is located up front. 2,900mAh battery will ship with this device along with Android 5.0 Lollipop with Lenovo’s skin on top of Google’s operating system. Dolby Atmos stereo audio is also a part of this package (first Lenovo-branded device to offer this audio system), and the device offers 4G LTE connectivity as well. The Lenovo A7000 measures 152.6 x 76.2 x 7.9mm, weighs 140 grams and comes with dual-SIM support (two micro SIM card slots). Xiaomi To Announce A Product Aimed At Women On March 31st

Xiaomi is going to turn 5 years old on March 31st. The company has already teased all sorts of announcements yesterday, and has indirectly confirmed that the Mi Pad 2 tablet will make an appearance at the event. We were wondering what else this China-based company might announce at that event, and they’ve just released yet another teaser to tickle our imagination. We’ve seen all sorts of odd teasers coming from China, and this one definitely belongs in that category.

If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll notice a dress on it, and the background of the image is pink. The “NSSJ” title is also present above the dress, along with the date listed down below. No matter which way you look at this, it is safe to assume that Xiaomi is preparing to launch a product targeted at women, which is interesting. Xiaomi’s CEO, Lin Bin, said in a blog post that the company is trying to become more fashionable, so it kind of adds up. A president of a well-known Chinese fashion group responded to Lin Bin’s Weibo post, saying the following: “this was the first such collaboration between the two companies,” which is a dead giveaway as well.

This teaser is really interesting. We’ve been trying to figure out what the “NSSJ” stands for, but were unsuccessful thus far. If you have an idea, please do share it in the comments. Will Xiaomi announce a smart clothing piece? Or will it be a wearable for women? Who knows, there are lots of possibilities here. The company will almost certainly launch several products at the event, the aforementioned Mi Pad 2 tablet is also a possibility, and who knows what else is Xiaomi preparing for us. The Redmi Note 2 handset is also expected to be launched in the coming weeks, same goes for the 2GB version of the Mi 4, though we have no idea if Xiaomi will showcase those at the event or not. The Mi Watch has also been talked about recently, same goes for the company’s recently leaked “Ferrari handset“, but it’s hard to imagine Xiaomi launching all that at the event, of course.

A Mysterious Huawei-Branded Device Gets Certified In China, Could This Be The Huawei P8 Mini?

Huawei’s P8 handset has been leaking for a long time now, we’ve seen all sorts of leaks come our way. The company has confirmed that the device will launch in April, as was reported earlier. Huawei will hold a press event on April 15 in London in order to announce their new flagship handset. The P8 is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch 1080p display along with 3GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of internal storage. The company’s very own HiSilicon Kirin 930 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz will power on this thing, and 13 and 8-megapixel camera’s will probably be a part of the package as well. Android 5.0 Lollipop is expected to come pre-installed here with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of Google’s OS.

That being said, another Huawei-branded handset got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). The Huawei ALE-UL00 handset actually resembles the Huawei P8’s leaked schematics, which is kind of odd. Is Huawei planning to release a mini version of their upcoming P8 device? Well, it’s possible. Anyhow, according to TENAA, this handset will sport a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs. An unknown octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz is also listed, same goes for a 13-megapixel rear-facing, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. This phone measures 143 x 70.6 x 7.7mm and will probably also ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop. There are a couple of images of this device in the gallery down below if you’d like to check the out.

It certainly seems like Huawei intends to release a “mini” version of the Ascend P8. This device resembles the P8 a whole lot, at least if the leaked schematics are legit. No matter what Huawei opts to name this handset, we’re looking at a solid mid-ranger. The launch event is still about 20 days away, so there’s still time for additional leaks to surface, which will happen for sure. We’ll let you know if we get any more info regarding either of these handsets, but it seems like Huawei will launch two devices on April 15. Stay tuned.

Beidou’s Affordable Red Pepper Note Mid-Ranger Gets Announced, MT6752 And 2GB Of RAM In Tow

Beidou is one of many Chinese smartphone manufacturers. We haven’t heard much from them in a long time, and then rumors started coming a couple of weeks ago. The company is expected to launch the budget Little Pepper 7 handset soon, and the rumors were also mentioning a Little Pepper Note handset quite recently. Well, the company has surprisingly already announced that handset, though it doesn’t come with leaked specs nor the leaked name. Beidou has decided to name this handset the Red Pepper Note, not the Little Pepper Note, and its specifications aren’t even near the leaked specs. Anyhow, let’s check out what it has to offer, shall we.

As its name suggests, this is a phablet. The Little Pepper Note feautres a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and it ships with a 3,100mAh battery. 13-megapixel camera is available on the back of this phablet, and a 5-megapixel snapper is located on its front side. The Red Pepper Note also comes with 4G LTE connectivity support and dual-SIM, dual standby functionality. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with some software additions from the company, of course. The Red Pepper Note measures 154.8 x 78.9 x 9.1mm. As far as the design goes, well, it’s understated. This phone is made out of plastic, which is to be expected at this price range. It kind of resembles ZTE’s offering when you look at it from the front, mainly because of the circular capacitive home button below the display.

This handset comes in Black, White, Green, Yellow, Blue and Red color options, and is already available for pre-order from Jingdong Mall in China for 699 Yuan ($112). The handset will be available for purchase from April 7th, in case you were wondering. As you can see, this is definitely not the high-end device that was rumored recently, but it is a really affordable mid-ranger though. We’ll see how well will this thing sell in China, but the price is really low, taking specifications into account, of course.

ZTE Unveiled The Premium Nubia Z9 Max And Nubia Z9 Mini Handsets In China

The Nubia Z7 line was ZTE’s flagship line for 2014. The company has announced three devices as part of this line back in 2014, the Nubia Z7, Nubia Z7 Mini and the Nubia Z7 Max. Basically every rumor / report that came our way stated that the company will skip over the Nubia Z8 branding and go straight to Nubia Z9. We’ve been seeing a lot of leaks and official teasers recently, and this China-based company has even confirmed the Nubia Z9 launch for March 26th a while back. Well, that date has came and ZTE has announced only 2 out of three devices from the Nubia Z9 line, which came as a bit of a surprise. The company has announced the Nubia Z9 Mini and the Nubia Z9 Max, but the Nubia Z9 is nowhere to be found. Coincidentally, that is the device which was supposed to sport virtually no bezel on the left and right side. Anyhow, let’s see what ZTE had to say at their event today.

The Nubia Z9 Max features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 401 PPI)) display (protected by Gorilla Glass 3) along with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor is powering on this handset along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The Nubia Z9 Max is made out of aluminum and it will ship with a 2,900mAh battery. On the back of the device you’ll find a 16-megapixel CMOS camera (F/2.0 aperture) which is flanked by an LED flash, and on the front of the device you get an 8-megapixel CMOS snapper (1.4um pixel size, 80-degree view). This handset also supports 4G LTE, both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE are supported. NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 3.0 are supported here.

The Nubia Z9 Mini looks basically identical to the Nubia Z9 Max, but it’s smaller. The Nubia Z9 Mini features a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 441 PPI) display. Unlike the Nubia Z9 Max, this handset is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor which ships with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. This handset also supports 4G LTE like its bigger brother, and has the same camera sensors on the inside. Both of these handsets come with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with ZTE’s Nubia UI 2.8 on top of Google’s operating system.
