For most of us, making and receiving phone calls with our devices is something we simply take for granted. Unfortunately, Nexus 6 owners who use Sprint as their carrier are finding that it's not quite that simple.

The Nexus 6 works on all five major US carriers with the simple swap of a SIM card, but that doesn't mean that all problems with the device are universal to all carriers.

Export Your Playlists From Spotify Over To Google Play Music Using Pyportify
There’s a lot of thought that probably goes into deciding which streaming music service is right for you, that is if you find yourself contemplating choosing a subscription based streaming music service at all. There are more than a few options out there and available if you’re using an Android device, but namely the top two choices would be Google Play Music and of course Spotify, which is more than likely the service with the most subscribers. What if you have spent the last two or three years subscribing to Spotify though and you’re wanting to switch services to Google Play Music?
What happens to all those playlists you have set up? Enter them all manually and sacrifice a chunk of your day getting everything set up as you had it before? Sure, you could do that. Or, you could simply use Portify, except there may have just been one issue, many people seemed to be having problems with Portify actually working. Thanks to this genius individual over on reddit named rcklmbr who was having that exact problem, he decided to “do something about it” he says and re-wrote the backend in Python as he noticed that the backend seemed to built on unstable API’s. The end result? is that Portify now seems to work pretty well for users trying to port their Spotify playlists over to Google Play Music: All Access, with many redditers commenting on the original thread that his method had also worked for them.
He calls the ambitious and successful little project “Pyportify”(a port of portify in python), and getting everything working doesn’t seem to be too difficult. There is a set of instructions to getting all the needed components installed, which doesn’t look like much, over at the github thread where rcklmbr has this posted. He also mentions that you may be violating the terms of service of both Spotify and Google Play Music and that he isn’t liable for anything that happens, so take that into consideration before you go about using Pyportify. The only issue at this point in time is that this Pyportify tutorial only seems to work with Mac OSX, Ubuntu or Fedora(both Linux distros)and there doesn’t seem to be a compatible set of instructions or files for Windows users. If you fall into any of the workable OS’s mentioned here before Windows, you’re good to go, just read through everything at the github.

XDA Announce They Will Be Hosting The Official Forums For YU And Their New Yureka Device
YU, is certainly a brand to watch out for in 2015. Those who follow the news avidly will know that YU is a sub-brand of their bigger parent company, Micromax. As such YU is primarily manufacturing for India, with currently no obvious signs of migration to other countries in the near future. That said, whether in India or not, they are a company to keep an eye on as they are planning interesting things for the future. The company has already announced their first device dubbed Yureka, although they are far more likely to be remembered as the company who managed to get OnePlus temporarily booted out of India in a recent court battle. Again, those who follow the news, will remember the battle was based around the use of CyanogenOS.
However, the employing of Cyanogen seems to be only one of the similarities between YU and OnePlus. They are both looking to offer competitively priced devices and also seem to be keen on end-user involvement and development. Today, XDA announced that they will be hosting the official device forum for YU and their first device ‘Yureka’. Now, you may think, sure, XDA hosts many device forums, and they do, but it seems this will be the main and official forum. In contrast to OnePlus who hosts their own forum on the OnePlus site, the YU forum will be officially residing on the XDA site. In addition, the announcement went on to note that when Yureka goes on sale, YU will provide the kernel sources and build tree on the day of launch. Not to mention that YU will also be providing tutorials including how to build kernels for their devices. So it does seem YU plan on hitting the ground with the development market, running.
In terms of when this will all begin, well, the Yureka will officially go on sale January 13th (tomorrow). The device is launching in India and will be exclusively sold through Amazon.in and will be priced at RS 8,999 which equates to roughly $145. In terms of XDA the official support forum has already gone live although you won’t find too much information on it just yet. Accessories supporting LoopPay mobile payments coming for Samsung devices
Later this year, owners of select Samsung devices will be able to use LoopPay when unique cases are released. LoopPay has partnered with XPAL Power and Trident Case to develop cases for Samsung devices that have its mobile payments technology built-in. The two devices to receive accessories first are the Galaxy S 5 and Galaxy Note 4. A back cover will be available for the Galaxy S 5 and an entire case for the Galaxy Note 4. The latter will allow for protection in addition to LoopPay functionality. Samsung has been said to be eyeing the mobile payments space like Apple, but nothing has materialized just yet.

Motorola says promised Lollipop update is coming “really soon” to the rest of their smartphone lineup
While it feels like it was only yesterday when Lollipop began rolling out to the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition and Nexus devices, for some, the wait is leaving more of a bitter taste in their mouths. This seems to have something to do with relatively small few who get to enjoy the bugs and memory leaks that come with early adoption, while everyone else with older Motorola devices is forced to wait on the sidelines with their old, stable Android firmware while Google n’ Motorola work on ironing out all the bugs. As we mentioned before, there were a handful of them.
Today, Motorola software engineer Luciano Carvalho took to Google+ to shed a little light on what’s been keeping Lollipop from rolling out across the rest of Motorola’s smartphone portfolio. He reminds everyone that, as promised, Lollipop will be arriving “really soon” to Motorola’s 2013-2014 smartphone lineup, they just want to make sure they’ve squashed most of the bugs you’ve been hearing about first. In fact, he’s pointed out that limited soak tests of Android 5.0.2 have already begun for some in different parts of the world and if no critical bugs are found, a more broad rollout will begin shortly thereafter.
We should point out that bugs in Android can be device specific, this is due to the vast differences in hardware across a multitude of devices. Just because Motorola may have squashed some of the known bugs in 5.0.2 doesn’t mean they’re totally in the clear. They will still need to test the software on each one of their devices to ensure total compatibility and make sure no other bugs pop up.
Anyone with 1st-gen Motorola devices will first need to make sure the “Motorola Update Services” app on their device is up-to-date in the Google Play Store. If you don’t see the app just yet, don’t worry — Motorola says you’ll soon be able to download it “really soon” so be on the lookout.

Verizon adjusts T-Mobile’s 4G LTE coverage in new promo
Near the end of 2014, Verizon was faced with some criticism regarding one of its advertisements that featured a map of a competitor’s 4G LTE coverage. The ad compared its network to that of T-Mobile; however, it was greatly skewed in favor of Verizon. The map portrayed T-Mobile’s 4G LTE coverage as extremely scarce by removing the HSPA/HSPA+ coverage. Yesterday, Big Red uploaded an updated version of the ad which shows a much more purple map of the United States (above). The coverage is still dwarfed by Verizon’s but T-Mobile has committed heavily to its growth.
