Moto 360 to be in Moto Maker and launched with Moto X+1

moto_360_moto_maker

It is expected that the Moto 360 will launch alongside the Moto X+1 later this summer, but more interestingly, according to recent rumors the Moto 360 will be included in Moto Maker.

As of right now, it is a little unclear as to what options the Moto 360 will have in the Moto Maker, but it is likely that users will be able to change the wristband. Motorola has stated that they want to offer a leather wristband, a metal one, and a sporty rubber one. Despite this, production of the metal wristband may be delayed, as Motorola only had the leather one to show at Google I/O.

Android ‘L’ to add improved real-time audio processing

microphone-pic

When Android ‘L’ was previewed at Google I/O, the main focus was on the user interface and changes that were coming to it. Despite this, Android ‘L’ will have a number of changes under the hood too.

One thing that Android has had a lot of trouble with over the years is real-time audio processing. Companies have been able to make great audio devices for iOS devices, but this isn’t as true for Android ones.

According to Glenn Kasten, a software engineer on Android’s media team, all the troubles with Android’s audio processing capabilities are about to change. Apparently, the team has completely rewritten the Android audio API’s, which now reduce input and output latency, something that is essential for real-time audio.

Report: LG G3 Launching on T-Mobile on July 16th

LG-G3-Review-AH-10

This aught to make a few people happy. According to TmoNews, it looks like the LG G3 is going to be heading to T-Mobile on July 16th. Now remember that this is just a report and nothing is official just yet, so it’s important to treat it as such. However, Tmonews’ inside sources are usually spot on, so there’s that. The LG G3 was announced back in May, and we haven’t heard a word about it coming to the US, other than “this summer”. In fact, it even launched in a ton of countries on Friday. So the LG G3 is finally making it’s way to more and more countries and will hopefully sell plenty more as they sold pretty well in their home country of South Korea.

The LG G3 is the first Quad HD display device that’s widely available. The LG G3 features a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display (it’s an IPS panel for those interested), Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP camera with Laser Auto Focus and OIS+ on the back, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 3000mAh removable battery as well as Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board. It’s a pretty beastly device to say the least.

I reviewed the LG G3 a few weeks ago here at Android Headlines, and I really liked the device. The battery life was good, just not great. And coming from the LG G2 I was a bit disappointed in the battery life, but the good thing is it’s removable so you can go ahead and get a bigger battery – which I’m sure Zero Lemon is working on making one. It’s also a great looking device from LG. How many of you are on T-Mobile and looking to pick up the LG G3 when it launches soon? Let us know in the comments below.

Google's Android TV Emulator Is Now Available For Developers

atvthumb If you couldn't make it to Google I/O, and thus couldn't get one of the first Android TV units as part of the developer swag, you can still start developing your apps for the platform's retail debut later in 2014. Google has included Android TV modules in the official Android SDK, underneath the Android L (API 20) package. That includes an emulator specifically for TV, so you should be able to build and test apps without any extra hardware.

[He's Dead, Jim] QuickOffice Will Be Removed From The Play Store After Its Features Are Implemented In Google Drive

unnamed (10) So long, QuickOffice, we barely knew you. Well, that's not true - the app has been around for years, long before Android itself, and before Google acquired the company last year it was considered one of the better options for those who needed Microsoft Office-style editing on the go. But now that Google is integrating the main features from QuickOffice into Google Drive/Docs, most notably the ability to edit Microsoft Office files, there's no reason to keep it around.

LG Chromebase Now Available at Amazon Starting at $329

81IMf0bhv+L._SL1500_

Earlier this year, LG announced their first Chrome OS device, which is an All-In-One desktop called the Chromebase. It does look a lot like Apple’s iMac though. It features an Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4 GHz, 2 GB DDR3L SDRAM, 16 GB Solid-State Drive, 22-Inch Screen, and Chrome OS. It has a few USB ports, Ethernet port, and a SD card on the back as well. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack on this bad boy as well.

The 22-inch display is a 1920×1080 resolution IPS display, so it’s nice and bright. And with the Intel Celeron 2955U clocked at 1.4GHz, it’s plenty of power for Chrome OS to do everything you need it to do. The Chromebase is available now from Amazon starting at $329.99, which is pretty good for a desktop running Chrome OS. Especially since it has a monitor built in, unlike the ASUS and HP Chromeboxes out there. LG does package a keyboard and a mouse along with the Chromebase, so you don’t need to spend extra on those.

It’s a pretty decent desktop, although it’s important to remember that this may not replace everyone’s desktop. If you can get along with doing everything you do on your computer in Chrome, then you’ll be fine with a Chrome OS device like the Chromebase, if not, then you’ll want to look elsewhere obviously. The Chromebase is a pretty decent machine and we should have one into review pretty soon for those interested in picking one up.

How many of you are interested in picking up the LG Chromebase? How many of you already own Chrome OS devices? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
