Google updated the Android distribution numbers today for the month of November to show any changes or shifts that have taken place within the past month. The numbers aren’t wildly different this time around, but we are seeing the debut of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the chart.
With the launch of the new Nexus devices and over-the-air (OTA) updates to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus 7 (2013), Android 6.0 squeaks in a 0.3%. The cutoff is 0.1%, so yeah, it just barely made it.
As for the rest of the numbers, we saw a jump for Lollipop 25.6% (from 23.5%), while most of the rest of the versions all dropped. KitKat now sits at 37.8% (from 38.9%), Jelly Bean at 29% (from 30.2%), and Ice Cream Sandwich at 3.3% (3.4%). Gingerbread (3.8%) and Froyo (0.2%) are where they were and probably will be.
