Moto-360-AH-6

A lot can happen during the work week, and sometimes the more important things in our lives can take most of our attention away from other things we’re interested in. If you happened to miss some of the bigger news stories in mobile and tech this week, we’ve got them all wrapped up for you to check out here. Kicking things off, in a somewhat surprising move Yahoo is reported to have reached a deal with Google on search results, which is interesting when you consider the fact that Yahoo is now dealing with Microsoft and Google for the same thing. Past Google’s deal struck with Yahoo, Google has been rumored to be working on a new Dialer application that is similar to the one on stock Android but potentially compatible with more devices. Google Fiber was in the news this week as Google continues to roll it out and scout new city prospects, and it seems to be making the ISP’s nervous, and it should.

Google also announced a new feature of search where you can ask it to find your phone and it will bring it up on Google Maps, so should you lose it, simply look it up using the browser to find the last known location. Huawei announced their latest device this past week, the P8, alongside a lite version and a Maxx version, and more rumors of Sony’s successor to the Xperia Z3 have surfaced, claiming there may be a fingerprint sensor on board. If you’ve yet to pick up a smartwatch, then you may be happy to know that Motorola has dropped the price of the Moto 360 from $249.99 to $165 this past week, making it one of the best deals on smartwatches.
