Samsung has been posting a lot of teasers lately for its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S6. We’ve already seen in a few teasers, that it’ll have metal at least somewhere on the smartphone. Whether it’s a fully aluminum unibody or just a metal frame like with the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4. But now, Samsung has put out another teaser for the Galaxy S6 this morning. This time, they say that “the metals will flow”. So it’s looking more and more like the entire body might be aluminum. Which would be a pretty big design change from the Galaxy S5 from last year, and just about every other Galaxy S smartphone in the past five years. It’s also nice to see that Samsung is spending more time hyping up the Galaxy S6 this year, hopefully the device will live up to the hype.
In this teaser, Samsung also says “borders will disappear”. That leads us to think about the Galaxy S6 Edge which we’ve heard rumored a few times already. And the fact that the piece of metal in the video is actually curved, a bit, definitely helps that. We have also heard that there will only be one Galaxy S6 model and that it would be a curved display similar to the Galaxy Note Edge which they announced last September. I still think it’s a bit early for that, but hey this is Samsung and they’ve shown that they aren’t afraid to try new things, like the Galaxy Note Edge. No one really saw that coming last fall.
This is probably one of the more well done teasers we’ve seen for a new smartphone in quite a while. Good job Samsung! While we don’t see what the phone looks like in here, it definitely gets you interested to see what Samsung is going to announced at Unpacked in Barcelona in about a week. Come March 1st, all should be unveiled, and we will be in Spain to cover everything.
