What is FloatNote?
FloatNote is a note taking application that works specifically during phone calls. When you make a call, a floating note will appear on screen and you can use it to take notes. It’s currently free in the Google Play Store with in app purchases.
Here’s how FloatNote works. When you make a phone call, a floating window will open on your call screen. You can access this floating window any time and use it to take notes about your conversation. Outside of the phone call, you can access the app and see the notes you’ve made and engage with them appropriately. This can be useful for a number of things such as taking down a number during a business call or more simple things like writing down to remember milk at the grocery store.
The floating window is about as standard as you can get. It will show a picture of the contact so you know who was on the phone when you made the note. The application itself is a standard card UI with some Material Design elements which makes it a nice addition to your Material Design collection if you’re a fan of that. Other than that, FloatNote is simple and you shouldn’t have any trouble figuring out how it works.
The scramble to find a pen and paper is over.
- Pops up a floating window during phone calls so you can take notes.
- You can review and engage with notes after phone calls in the app.
- Material Design and card UI look good. Not amazing, but good.
- Free to download so you can see if you like it.
- Active development updates and responds to user complaints (most of the time).
- May be buggy on some devices.
Overall, it really doesn’t hurt to give this app a try. We’ve all been on the phone and went scrambling for a pen and paper to jot down a phone number before and this app allows you to avoid that struggle. It has a few issues here and there but it is free to download so it won’t cost you anything to try it out.
