HP Launches Their Touchscreen Model Of The Tegra K1 Powered HP Chromebook 14

HP Chromebook 14 Touch

Back when HP announced that they were coming out with a new version of the HP Chromebook 14 with a new and improved CPU and some other tweaked specifications, potential Chromebook owners likely took notice. The new model of the HP Chromebook 14 sports an Nvidia Tegra K1 processor inside and comes clad in a new color palette, and at the time although it wasn’t made immediately available, HP announced that there would be a touchscreen version of that new Chromebook 14 on the way a few months down the line. Just in time for Christmas(although probably not really as you might be out of luck for having it show up on time through shipping)HP has finally launched the HP Chromebook 14 touchscreen model here in the U.S. and it can be purchased through HP’s own website.

This is much the same HP Chromebook 14 that was launched back in the beginning of the Fall, but with a few slight improvements. The touchscreen is the obvious new factor here, coming in at a size of 14-inches and a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 pizels, but it isn’t the only new thing to come to the updated model. There’s also more hard drive storage space included, moving up from the standard 16GB of SSD space seen on most Chromebooks to 32GB, and of course it keeps the 4GB of RAM like we’ve seen in earlier models

You’ll find all the other familiar and standard specifications included, like WiFi 802.11 A/C, Bluetooth 4.0 an HD webcam, 3 USB ports,(one that’s USB 3.0 and two that are USB 2.0)a single HDMI out port, and a recorded eight and half hour battery life. The battery life isn’t the longest we’ve seen on a Chromebook, but it should provide sufficient time for anyone looking to use the Chromebook without having to plug it into an outlet. Since these are now available for purchase, if you have an extra $439.99 laying around and were looking for a new Chromebook with a touchscreen, we’d suggest giving this one a fair consideration as the HP Chromebook 14 models have been well received by most of their owners. You might not get it in time to put it under the tree, but it would make for a great belated Christmas gift.
