Motorola Moto X (2014) just $50 on Verizon contract this weekend

The Verizon branded brand new Moto X (2014) is on sale this weekend. If you are willing to sign up with Verizon for a two year contract, you can get Motorola‘s latest flagship for half off, just $49.99. This goes for just the Verizon model, the Pure Edition and remaining carrier offerings remain at full price.

Since this is a time limited deal, you best head on over to Moto Maker on the Motorola website right away if you are interested in the new Moto X (2014) for just $49.99 on contract through Verizon.

The new Moto X (2014) is a 5.2-inch device running Android 4.4.4 KitKat, for now, it will get Android 5.0 Lollipop ‘soon.’ Running the Snapdragon 801 processor at 2.5GHz, Adrena 330 and 2GB of RAM, it is no slouch, and the updated 13MP camera is proving a major improvement over the previous generation Moto X.

With the updated size and specs of the Moto X (2014), it should be no surprise that the price took a jump as well. Sadly, many feel that this new price tag of $500 and up, without contract, knocks it out of viable contention when looking for a good contract-free phone. It is a good thing then that this phone is like others hitting the market right now, great devices that should easily last users a couple years. Not that I’m advocating carrier contracts, just that I don’t think a contract is as bad a thing as it used to be.

Whether you buy the new Moto X (2014) on Verizon contract or not, you’ll want to head into the Motorola website to grab your new handset. Sure, you can buy the Moto X elsewhere, but Moto Maker will allow you to make all those cool customizations.

Now that the madness of the new Nexus devices is settling down a bit, which Motorola device would you drop your money on, the Nexus 6 or this new Moto X (2014)?
