Here are More Pictures of the OnePlus Mini

Last week, a new device from OnePlus hit the FCC, which is reported to be called either the OnePlus Mini or OnePlus X. Regardless of its name, the device has been posted onto the Weibo site overseas, giving us a better look at what to expect from OnePlus’ second device of the year.

From this new set of images, the device looks quite plain, featuring an all-black exterior. The frontside features capacitive buttons, with OnePlus possibly ditching the fingerprint reader. On the backside, we see a rear-facing camera, LED flash, and OnePlus logo. The one side image features a single button, which is possibly the power button.

As of right now, the specs reported to launch with the OnePlus Mini are as follows – 5″ 1080p display, MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing camera, and NFC. Yes, NFC!

Of course, we have heard nothing from OnePlus in terms of expecting a new device, but evidence suggests that we should see this device launch sometime later this year.

Hangouts 5.0 Update Rolling Out to Google Play

Hangouts 4.0 has not been around all too long, but today, Google is slowly starting to roll out Hangouts 5.0 for all through Google Play. The overall feel of the 5.0 update should be very similar to 4.0, although, Google has likely gone through and squashed a ton of little bugs and made the experience on Hangouts smoother.

Once we have played with the update for a bit, we will update this post with what you can expect to see once the update hits your device.

AT&T Launches 4G LTE in Mexico

AT&T made it clear within the last year that it wants to take over the wireless scene in Mexico, it seems, after acquiring Iusacell and Nextel Mexico. To further that thought, the company announced that 40 million people in Mexico are now covered by its 4G LTE network.

By using both Iusacell and Nextel networks, AT&T has not only added coverage to 40 million people, but they should see that number jumps to 75 million by the end of next year and 100 million by the end of 2018.

The following cities/areas in Mexico now have 4G LTE:

Atlacomulco, Estado de México
Cuernavaca, Morelos
Cuautla, Morelos
Pachuca, Hidalgo
Tepeji, Hidalgo
Tulancingo, Hidalgo

Here’s the HTC One A9

Twitter account @OnLeaks posted a few photos of the HTC One A9 this weekend, ahead of its probable unveiling on October 20 in New York City. The photos are of a dummy unit, meaning it has no working parts inside, but the body should be true to what we will see when the device is made official.

We have already seen the device pictured here and there, but with these photos, we get a great sense of the overall look and shape of the phone. We can clearly see rounded edges, a fingerprint reader on the bottom frontside, and centered rear-facing camera. On the left side, we have access to the SIM tray and microSD card slot, and on the right side, there is a volume rocker and textured power button.

Again, this device is expected to be announced on October 20, with launch set for November. We don’t know which carriers plan on making it available, but the dummy unit pictured is an AT&T variant, so that’s basically confirmed.

Verizon’s DROID Turbo 2 is the “Kinzie,” Plus Some Other Details

Remember that mysterious Motorola device that showed up in a benchmark, rumors, and at the FCC back in May/June/July on its way to Verizon under the codename “Kinzie” and model number XT1585? It’s the DROID Turbo 2, in case you were wondering. Why it hasn’t arrived yet is beyond us, but we have learned some additional details about the device today.

As I just mentioned, the Turbo 2 is indeed the Kinzie, a device that has a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 810, 3GB, 20MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, Turbo Charging, and Android 5.1.1. By all means, this sounds like a flagship, just like last year’s original DROID Turbo.

While we haven’t seen the actual device, we are pretty sure it looks like this.

My guess is that this phone and the new DROID MAXX 2 will arrive towards the end of this month. Last year’s Turbo was announced on October 28 and it would make sense for Verizon to do something similar, especially with the holiday shopping season approaching.
