Moto X Pure Edition Available at Best Buy Stores

Sick of reading about the Moto X Pure Edition and would rather get your hands on one? You can now do just that at Best Buy stores. This evening, Best Buy’s website flipped the switch on black, white, and bamboo models of 16GB or 32GB with in-store pick-up. We have also heard that Best Buy stores have the phone on display for some physical rubbing from you.

Before you cruise in, you should hit up the link below and check your nearest stores for availability. I live in Oregon and wasn’t able to find any nearby stores with the phone, but Washington sure seems to have plenty of stores with stock.

Motorola told us that mid-September would be the time that the Moto X Pure would arrive in stores and it looks like they were spot on.

Of course, if you can’t get into a store or they don’t have stock, you can always watch our unboxing again and see how the MXPE compares to the other Moto X models and the Nexus 6.

Moto X Pure Edition Owners, Share Your Early Thoughts!

Yesterday, I spent a good couple of hours answering your questions about the new Moto X Pure Edition. I noticed something pretty cool during that Q&A session, though, and that was the other opinions being shared to some of the questions by other owners of the phone. A fair number of you already own the phone and are a great resource for those still considering Motorola’s new Moto X, so we want to see if we can’t tap into that.

In this post, to end our Wednesday, we thought we would reach out to current owners and have you share your initial impressions after owning the phone for the past few days. How is the camera? Thoughts on the size? How would you compare the MXPE to the phone you came from? Why did you ultimately decide to pick one up? What’s battery life like? Do you wish Motorola had stayed with AMOLED instead of LCD? Favorite feature? Lousiest feature? Would you recommend?

Video: Moto X Pure vs. Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen) vs. Nexus 6

Within the last week, you guys have made it clear to us that you want to know how the new Moto X Pure Edition (our unboxing) compares to the Moto X (1st gen), Moto X (2nd gen), and Nexus 6. I think it’s safe to say that many of you are in the Moto X family of phones and are considering staying there. And rightfully so, the Moto X line has been one of the best in recent years.

So, with that in mind, we put together this video, which shows you the new Moto X Pure versus the 1st and 2nd gen Moto X and the Nexus 6. This isn’t a performance battle or camera showdown, since those types of tests don’t work well on camera. Instead, this focuses on what most of you seem to be worried about – how does the size differ from one phone to the next. It also dives into a recap of specs from one year to the other.

Video: Huawei Watch Unboxing and Hands-on

The Huawei Watch has arrived, so now it’s time to begin the full review process. First up, of course, is an unboxing video! Before we get right into the video, let’s do a little bit of background on the device itself.

The Huawei Watch features a 1.4″ full-circle AMOLED display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 300mAh battery. Do note, there is no NFC connectivity for the smartwatch, so that may be a downer for a few potential buyers. 

With the watch in-hand, and even seeing the packaging, there is no doubt Huawei set out to create the most premium Android Wear smartwatch they could. We received the Stainless Steel with Black Leather band base model ($349), but other models, such as the all Rose Gold model, will feature a price tag of $799, making it one of most expensive Android Wear devices to hit the market.

There will be plenty of time to talk more about the device in our full review, which will be coming soon after we spend a few days with it.

Apple’s First Android App, Move to iOS, Hits Google Play

Been in the Android game for a bit, but have decided your life would be better being controlled by someone else in a walled garden of tech hell where no one cares what you think because Apple? Apple will help you realize that life through their Move to iOS app that just landed on Google Play. 

In Move to iOS, you get to easily take your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, bookmarks, mail accounts, and calendars with you to an iPhone or iPad because “everything about iOS is designed to be easy.” Well, outside of 3D Touch and dealing with 1,856 settings for each app and Apple Music and interacting in any way with notifications and that keyboard, ugh that iOS keyboard…I guess I’ll stop there.

The app transfers everything over to your new iOS device via private WiFi network. Secure!

Move to iOS is available to all Android devices running Android 4.0+.

Minecraft: Story Mode Hits Google Play on October 15

Telltale Games, in partnership with Mojang, is set to launch Minecraft: Story Mode for Android on October 15.  The game will be released to Google Play as the first chapter, with additional chapters to follow. This follows previous deployment strategies of Telltale, like we saw with The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Tales From the Borderlands. 

To start the game, you choose whether to be a male or female named Jesse, then basically travel around the blocky world protecting it from baddies hailing from the Nether. From the game’s description, “You’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon.”

Telltale states that they have worked closely with Mojang to maintain a sense of customization for players, allowing them to choose from different looks for the playable characters. While the world itself is likely not able to be changed, Telltale wants this to feel like an actual Minecraft universe.

Once the game is officially available on Google Play, we will let you know.
