Buy the Learn to Design Bundle and Donate to Charity!

Screenshot 2015-02-26 09.48.06

One of the cooler software bundles we have on the Android Headlines store right now is the Learn to Design bundle. But you choose what you want to pay. And 10% of the amount you pay goes to charity. Which is pretty darn sweet. This bundle is a $840 value, and comes with creative web design, responsive web design, user experience web design and a few others. You can pay what you want, but if you want all 8, then you need to beat the average price which is $8.62. And if you want to be the leader, you’ll need to pay more than $108. Remember, 10% of this goes to charity!

You can pick up the “Pay what you want Learn to Design Bundle” today from the Android Headlines Deals store. It’s definitely a great price.

Here’s our best look yet at the Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 Edge thanks to Sprint

Sprint_Galaxy_S_6_Galaxy_S_6_edge_pre-registration_Leak_01

We already have a pretty good idea of what the Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 Edge will look like, but we have probably the best image yet thanks to an employee at Sprint. This image is for a pre-registration page and contest that probably wasn’t supposed to launch until after this Sunday’s Unpacked event.

Unfortunately the leak didn’t provide any other details, but at least you have an even better idea of how both phones will look. I actually can’t wait until this Sunday since we can finally put an end to all these leaks. It’s starting to get just a tad boring, don’t you think?

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S6 Earbuds Leaked

2986855_Galaxy_S6_earphone_leak-10

There have been many rumors surrounding the new, as yet unofficial, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, or Galaxy S Dual Edge: we’re not even sure what the device will be called although we have managed to reach a general consensus as to some of the details of the new handset, such as the processor (reckoned to be a new generation 64-bit, octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 built on a new, small manufacturing process) and capacities available (Samsung have showcased a new memory chip available in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB capacities). We have also seen other rumors too including one that had the Galaxy S6 released with Sennheiser earbuds rather than Samsung-branded buds.

We’ve now seen images of the earbuds claimed to belong to the unreleased Samsung Galaxy S6 models thanks to an anonymous leak online. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know if these are the real deal or not. They look like they could be the real deal but as you can see from the gallery below, there is no Sennheiser branding in sight. It is possible that they are manufacturer by Sennheiser and branded Samsung, or perhaps Samsung used Sennheiser to help improve the quality of the earbuds. It is also possible that the S6 models will have different retail packaging depending on where it’s being sold around the world, so these could be the earbuds from a different market to your own. Perhaps Samsung will reserve the Sennheiser buds for certain regions or carriers?

Looking at these Samsung branded earbuds, then; they have media controls and a microphone built in, plus they do look a little bit like the Apple earbuds, too. We’ve no idea of the quality of the buds or if they’ll be available in different colors depending on the device chosen but with the new Galaxy announcement only a few days away, we should know before too long.

What do you think to the possibility of Samsung using Sennheiser earbuds? Would you be interested in using them? Have you always used whatever earbuds came with your device, or have you left them in the box and used your own? Let us know in the comments below.

Sprint teases Galaxy S6, we get our clearest official look yet

sprint-six-appeal

We’re a mere couple of days away from Samsung’s Galaxy S6 launch event, but it seems that Android fans aren’t the only ones that can’t stand the anticipation. Sprint is getting on board with the teasers and has launched a “Six Appeal” landing page utilizing a familiar side profile image of what we assume to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Here interested Sprint users (are there any Sprint users left?) can register for updates about Samsung’s highly anticipated smartphone.

But lest you think that’s all we will get before the official launch of Samsung Galaxy S6, a second image has surfaced giving us a near full-frontal view of both the standard and Edge versions of the device. The Edge is shown with a display that curves at both sides — a feature that has been rumored but not quite confirmed in recent leaks.

samsung-galaxy-s6-teaser

Interesting to note is that in all of Samsung’s early advertising, the Edge variant of the device seems to be the one getting top billing, a different strategy than what we saw with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and and Note Edge. If the S6 Edge is the true flagship, we might wonder why Samsung didn’t simply go all-in on that model while foregoing a version with a standard display.

The image also seems to confirm the notion floating around that the Galaxy S6 Edge will not use its curved display in quite the same way as the Note Edge the preceded it. While the Note Edge had a more dramatic curve that served as a secondary display, the S6 appears to utilize a more subtle taper. There are no indications of the so-called Edge display, leaving us to believe the choice is all about design and ergonomics.

Oppo R5-Inspired Outfit Was Introduced At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week In New York

Closeup of the opening outfit based on the OPPO R5

I don’t know how many of you know this, but Fashion Week took place in New York quite recently, it actually ended on February 19th. What does this have to do with technology? Well, Oppo has attended the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and reached out to us with some info. Oppo’s R5 handset, which was released back in October, was kind of involved in this year’s Fashion Week. Oppo has partnered up with fashion designer Ly Qui Khanh who designed some outfits which are based on the design concept of the Oppo R5, which is actually a part of the designer’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection called “The Last Petal”.

“OPPO is dedicated to delivering an inimitable experience through meticulous design and smart technology to worldwide consumers. We care a lot about and have invested heavily in design and quality, so we are very pleased to see that Ly Qui Khanh shares similar ideals with OPPO, and has successfully built up his reputation by pursuing his ideals at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York,” said Sky Li, Vice President of Oppo and Managing Director of International Mobile Business. The designer they partnered with is actually a well-known Vietnamese designer and one of the very few designers from Asia who were invited to attend the event. He added the following: “When I first saw the OPPO R5, I was inspired by something that appears so delicate and thin, like the wings of a cicada, yet which has the robustness of steel. It reminds me of flower petals that blossom proudly in winter — soft as they appear to be, they make for a powerful symbol of transition between two seasons.”

Mr. Khanh also added that he was influenced by classical 19th century European apparels when designing this. There are a couple of images in of Khanh’s creation in the gallery down below, in case you’d like to check that out. The phone itself was the thinnest smartphone in the world for a short time, it’s 4.85mm thin and it’s been available out in the market for a while now. VLC For Android Gets Official Play Store Beta Test Group On Google+, Goes Through Material-Inspired Makeover

unnamed

Following VLC on Android over the last couple of months has felt a little bit like a shell game. It all started in December when Videolabs declared VLC was finally leaving behind its Beta status. The app retained the same package name, org.videolan.vlc.betav7neon, but was to be considered stable. Earlier this month, a brand new version 1.0 VLC app appeared in the Play Store with a package name and title devoid of the word 'beta.' This new app was to become the channel for stable releases, while the original listing was again repurposed for beta releases.
