Virgin Mobile Intros Data Done Right Plans For Single And Multi-Line Data Sharing

AH Virgin Mobile Logo 1.0

Data sharing. It’s a feature that can come in pretty handy if someone needs a little more data to use and you have plenty to use yourself. Family plans from many carriers offer some form of shared data from huge pool as opposed to having individual data buckets added on to each line like back in the day.(which was really just a few years ago)Virgin Mobile is trying things a little bit differently as their introducing their new Data Done Right plans for customers which begin to roll out as an available package starting tomorrow on January 17th.

Virgin’s Data Done Right offerings will consist of three different plans for families who are interested in sharing data across multiple lines of service. The plans start at a price of $65 a month, with 4GB of 3G/4G data to share between two active lines of service alongside unlimited talk and text. Bumping up to a monthly price of $90 will net you three active lines of service and the plan then comes with double the data at 8GB a month to share, and of course it still comes with unlimited talk and text. The last plan will cost $115 a month and it also comes with unlimited talk and text, and raises the data bucket to 12GB to split across four active lines of service. If you’re not already a Virgin mobile customer, setting up new lines will also tack on the cost of the activation kit which is $20 so make sure you tally that in.

Virgin is also sweetening the deal by giving users the WiFi hotspot feature on all lines for free if they’re on a multi-line data sharing plan. The niche with these Data Done Right plans is that customers will be able to manage the allotment of data for each line on the plan, and this can all be done from the handset, although it doesn’t have to be. This detail makes it so that the account holder can disperse the right amount of data to each line so everyone gets what they need. The idea here is to avoid overage fees from using data without knowing how much is left, or from running out because you weren’t sure who used what. Virgin Mobile will be making these plans compatible with only a handful of devices for now, which includes the LG Volt, LG Tribute, HTC Desire 510, and the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, with more compatible devices being added next month although there was no word on which devices those are.

Sprint Now Leasing LG G3 For $15 And Samsung Galaxy Note 4 For $25 On Sprint Lease

Sprint-Logo-AH-4

If you are looking to get hold of a high-end device at a reduced cost and are a Sprint customer then you probably already know about Sprint’s Leasing program. For those that don’t know, then back at the end of October Sprint launched ‘Sprint Lease’. This program allowed Sprint customers to effectively lease a new device and only pay a reduced lease fee over twenty monthly. At the time of launch, the program was only offered for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Sport. This meant the cost of picking up a Galaxy S5 out of the door was only the first monthly lease payment, which was $20. In fact, for Black Friday, Sprint even dropped that first initial payment, meaning you could walk out of the door paying nothing for the Galaxy S5.

Well, it looks like today a couple of more devices have been added to the Lease program. The first to join, is LG’s flagship device of 2014, the LG G3. As you probably already know, the LG G3 comes with 5.5” True HD IPS display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Inside, the LG G3 comes with 2GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor (clocking at 2.5GHz). On the camera front, the LG G3 comes with a 13MP rear shooter and a 2.1MP front facing option. If you want to go for this device on the new Sprint Program, you can pick it up for 24 monthly payments of only $15.

The other device added is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Again, as you probably know, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 5.7” QHD Super AMOLED display (2560 x 1440). Inside, the Note 4 is loaded with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor (clocking at 2.7GHz). In terms of cameras, there is a 16MP rear shooter along with a 3.7MP front facing option. If you fancy going for this device, then you can pick it up on the lease program for $25 a month.

So there you go You could now get either the LG G3 for $15 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for just $25 a month. Once your lease period ends you can either purchase the device, return the lease device and end your contact or simply trade it in for another leased device. Not bad really.

SF Launcher 2 takes over your device with Material Design and cards

sf_launcher_2_app_icon

Forget about the original SF Launcher and look ahead to SF Launcher 2. Jack Thakar, the developer of the third-party launcher, has rewritten and redesigned his app to fit today’s recommended guidelines for Android. SF Launcher 2 features Android 5.0′s Material Design elements as well as cards that would generally be found when using Google Now. Apps, widgets, and shortcuts have places on cards embedded into the launcher. Colors and placements of these items can be adjusted. Everything about SF Launcher 2 makes it seem as if Google had created it. The themes and headers match Google’s software vision perfectly.

SF Launcher 2 is optimized for Android 5.0 devices; however, it will work with anything running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and higher. Users of the original SF Launcher can stick with that one, but moving over to SF Launcher 2 will not port identical settings. Select favorites and settings will move over, though, if the original is on version 0.5.7.
