Samsung announced new flagship-level tablets this morning as the Galaxy Tab S2 in 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch variants. Each features gorgeous new Super AMOLED displays with resolutions of 2048×1536, octa-core processors, 3GB RAM, 8MP cameras, 32GB or 64GB of storage (with microSD support), Android 5.0 Lollipop, big batteries, and WiFi or LTE configurations. All of that is somehow housed in a body that is just 5.6mm thick.
According to the press release, these tablets product 94% of natural tones “to show true-to-life colors.” They also include fingerprint sensors, Samsung’s multitasking software, most of the software from the Galaxy S6 (like Smart Manager), and free 100GB of OneDrive storage for two years.
Samsung says to expect these tablets to hit global markets starting in August. No pricing was given.
