Tasker Update Adds Support For Google Maps API v2, Brings A Number Of Location-Based Enhancements

TaskerThumbTasker is quite possibly the most exciting, boring-looking app in existence. A new user stumbling across its Play Store page is sure to walk away scratching their heads, but it only takes reading a few blog posts to realize that there's more to this piece of software than the screenshots would suggest. Out of the box, it's capable of giving users more control over their Android devices than any single other app, but there are no shortage of plugins out there that still manage to crank things up to the next level.

ZTE launches the jumbo-sized Grand X Max on Cricket Wireless

ZTE grand X max If you’re looking for an extremely large phone but don’t want to shell out the cash for something like Samsung’s Galaxy Note line, you may want to keep an eye on ZTE’s awkwardly named Grand X Max. The phablet device features a 6-inch, 720p display, along with a quad-core Snapdragon 200 and 1 GB of RAM. The other specs are pretty mid-range, including an 8 megapixel camera and 8 GB of internal storage, but the Max will launch at $200 off-contract for Cricket. Not a bad deal.

This is the second large phone that ZTE has announced for a US carrier this year, with the other being the ZTE ZMAX for T-Mobile and US Cellular. The Grand X Max beats out the ZMAX by a few inches, even though the rest of the hardware is slightly less powerful, but if you’re interested in picking up a ZTE phone for the holidays you’re going to have several new options.

ZTE Grand MAX is a $199 6-inch phablet headed to Cricket October 10th

zte grand max

ZTE and Cricket have just announced a huge new phablet for folks looking for big smartphones. It’s the 6-inch ZTE Grand MAX, and for just $200 without a contract you’ll be treated 720p resolution, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and a 1 megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 3,200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0, Android 4.4 KitKat and more.

The device will be headed to store shelves starting October 10th, so you have a few days to decide if it’s something you want to plop money down on. It obviously isn’t the most exciting smartphone we’ve ever seen, but if you’ve been craving some phablet goodness and don’t have the funds to get top-line stuff like Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 4, this is yet another route to take to big screen glory.

nbathumbAnother year, another companion app to another installment in an annual sports series. This time we're taking a look at NBA 2K15. No, it's not 2015 yet, but this is a sports thing. As in this will presumably be what you're using throughout most of next year, since it's coming out at the end of this one. I know most of you are rolling your eyes right now, but there is surely one person reading this who was confused, and I'm looking them straight in the eyes right now.

The Moto G (2014) is similar to the previous version of the device in offering a decent hardware package at a budget price point. Motorola did let the device grow a bit as the Moto G (2014) sports a 5-inch display versus the previous version’s 4.5-inch display. One notable missing feature for some buyers though will be the lack of 4G support.

Doggins Is A Game About A Dapper Dog Who Travels Through Time And Relative Dimensions In Space

unnamed All dogs are time travellers. On a technical level, anyway: they move around through three dimensions while progressing through the fourth at a constant rate. But the charming hero of the adventure game Doggins has one less dimension to travel through, so he makes up for his 2D affliction by blasting himself backwards in time. If you want to see how (not to mention why) you'll have to play the game, now available for four bucks on the Play Store.
